WEDDING & BAPTISM ENQUIRIES

Last updated: 29th April 2008

If you are planning a Wedding, a Marriage Blessing, a Baptism (Christening) or a Thanksgiving for a Child service then you should initially contact the Parish Office (01582 765524) who will then explain what you need to do. Remember there are three churches in the parish at which the service may be conducted. Please go to the 'Contact Us' page for more details about the Parish Office and Clergy.

Baptisms and Thanksgivings should if possible be included within a normal Sunday morning service where the whole congregation can join in the celebration and welcome of the new member of Christ's family. If this is not possible then these services are generally arranged for 3pm or 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. For older children and adult baptism cadidates the option for full immersion is available (at All Saints' church). Please ask.

Please do not fix the date (with family, friends, reception, car hire, etc) before you have confirmation of the availability of a priest to prepare for and take the service. Whilst we shall try to meet your needs, clergy are busy and are not always available. You should also give the Parish Office as much advance notice as possible, and at least the minimum of 6 weeks, so that proper preparation (including family visits) and arrangements can be made prior to the service.

Each church has a hall that is available for hire. The people to contact about hall hire are listed on the Contact Us page.

WEDDING MUSIC:

For your Wedding or Blessing Service you will want to decide what music to have. All three churches can provide an organist and perhaps a choir if you wish, and can help you select the music that is suitable for the occasion. St Nicholas' Church has a particularly large and fine choir and will gladly provide a choir for your wedding.

Initially discuss your requirements with the priest who will take the service, but at St Nicholas' you will probably also need to consult the Organist and Choirmaster, Mr Eric Pask, who will be able to give you a good deal of musical advice and has provided the listings of possible music below to help you:
