Following the appointment of the Saint Mary's Building Committee, the requirements for improvements in Saint Mary's buildings was established after reference to the Saint Mary's Committee, and is as follows:-
THE REQUIREMENTS
The present facilities for social activities on Church premises are inadequate.
The need
for increased seating capacity in the Church arises on certain occasions.
The expansion
of the congregation due to housing developments in the area over the next fifteen years must
be provided for.
PRESENT ACCOMMODATION
This consists of:-
One large room used as the Church, seating 55 |

One small room used as:- |
Church extension, seating 12 - 25 |
Breakfast room |

Meeting room |
|
Storage of Chairs, vestments and hassocks |
|
Sunday School |
|
One small kitchen |
|
Vestry 3 feet x 7 feet |

One toilet |

Difficulties arise over the preparations for breakfast, the use of the Church room for social functions, the division of Sunday School into classes, and the instruction of children concurrent with a service.
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
A preliminary plan for extension of the buildings has been drawn up to provide for:-
Church extensions for a total seating for 84, |

Larger schoolroom providing |
- a two part room for Sunday School and social meetings |
- Church extension seating 41, bringing total seating to 125 |
|
Vestry, kitchen and cloakroom facilities in support of the above. |

ESTIMATED COST
The estimated cost based on the preliminary plan is given by the Architect as £ 6,250 exclusive of professional fees.
PRELIMINARY PLAN
Copies of the preliminary plan for these extensions are available from the Parish Office, and a larger plan is available for Committee discussions.
