PARISH NOTICES
Harpenden Mothers' Union: One of the projects that St Albans Diocesan Mothers’ Union is supporting this year is “Safe Delivery in Burundi”. We in Harpenden are raising funds for this so please go to the MU page on this website (go to Main Menu and select The Mothers' Union) to read more.
Christmas Tree Festival - the results: The Harpenden Christmas Tree Festival held before Christmas in St Nicholas raised a magnificent £16,500. This is split between four charities: Community Meeting Point, Kids Company, Oxfam River Basin Project, and a Christian Aid Fairtrade Coffee project.

Five trees were decided by the large number of entries as 'favourite' - they were:
. The Donkey Trust (1st Harpenden Brownies)
. Unite the World with Books (All Saints' Church)
. Change Today Choose Fairtrade (Fairtrade Foundation)
. The Wishing Tree (Sauncey Wood Primary School)
. Antartica (St Mary's Church)
Electoral Roll: With AGMs fast looming, this is a good time to consider being on the electoral roll of this parish if not already. It doesn't cost anything and the application form is easy to complete and available in each of the churches, from the people below or the Parish Office. Also, if you are on the Roll but you've changed your name, address, etc., then please advise one of the following:

Penny Alcock (St Mary's) Tel: 460777
Jennifer Bottomley (All Saints') Tel: 765590
George Manley (St Nicholas') Tel: 715845
Do you know something that we don't? If you are involved in the planning of a special service, or a social or fund raising event in the parish then as well as distributing the usual posters please also let the following people know as early as possible so it can be publicised within the parish. Quite a lot of events are low on numbers because they haven't been well advertised, and that's a shame because we can help:

Tell the LINK Magazine Editor (Clive Williams)
Tell the Parish Webmaster (Brian Inall)
Tell the Parish Office, ask for a notice in the Weekly Newsheet / Pews News and ensure it goes into the parish diary (and this may stop another event from using the same date and competing with yours.)
If at St Mary's then also tell Ann Holder so it goes into the St Mary's Missive.
If at All Saints' then also tell Natalie Edwards so it goes into the weekly All Saints' Pews News.
The Pastoral Care Team: The Pastoral Care Team would like to remind you to inform the Parish Office (765524) about anyone who would like either a hospital or home visit.

I maintain this Parish web site so if you have any helpful suggestions or items to be included then please let me know. I'm very pleased to have feedback about what you like and dislike about it, and about what you would like to have. Email the Webmaster (see Contacts page). Brian Inall.
