· Thurs 1st May 2008:
8pm: The Deanery Ascension Day service will be at St Helen's, Wheathampstead. All Welcome.
NOT at All Saints' Church as incorrectly stated in the April edition of Link Magazine.
· Sat 3rd May 2008:
8.30am: Harpenden Outreach Prayers - Crabtree Church.

Eve: St Nicholas Primary School 150th Anniversary Ball at St Georges. Tickets £60 from Susie Collins 07767 793895 or Caroline Martin 768044. See also 28th June.
· Sun 4th May 2008:
3pm at All Saints': The Parish Bereavement Service. (The full title is: Annual Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving.) Many individuals will be personally invited, but it is open to all who wish to remember someone who has died. Refreshments and a time to chat afterwards. Please come along. Transport can be provided if you ask. Contact: Rev'd Elizabeth Inall (713007).
· Saturday 10th May 2008:
Parish Quiet Day: 10am - 4pm: To be in the beautiful and tranquil setting of St Mary' Church (delightful 14th century) and adjacent Hall (classical late 20th century) at Puttenham which is near Tring - less than 50 minute drive. All welcome - speaker will be Rev'd Guy Buckler "Meeting God in his own House" - an opportunity to explore the gift of silence and silent prayer. £10 each. Please bring your own lunch. (No noisy crisps!!) Transport will be arranged for those requesting it. For more information and to book a place contact Rev'd Elizabeth Inall (713007).

10am: The Children's Society Spring Fair in St Nicholas' Church Hall.

Christian Aid Week.
· Monday 12th May 2008:
8pm: St Nicholas' Annual District Church Meeting (ADCM).
· Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th May 2008:
Christian Resource Exhibition at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey.
· Saturday 31st May 2008:
2pm: All Saints' Garden Fete - in and around All Saints' Church. Summer's coming (well the days are getting longer now) so put this in your diary. Better still, offer some help to the organisers - Contact: Mandy Gaines (715270). The theme is Lavender, and you'll soon see posters going up showing a big bunch of lavender and details of the Fete.
· Thursday 5th June 2008:
8.00pm: Confirmation Service for this Parish by the Bishop in All Saints' Church.
· Saturday 7th June 2008:
8.30am: Harpenden Outreach Prayers - URC Church, Vaughan Road/Victoria Road.
· Sunday 15th June 2008:
Stewardship Fair - in St Nicholas' Church Hall after the 9.30 and 11.30am services. This will be an opportunity both for the many groups and teams within St Nicholas to explain what they do as well as for new members and volunteers to become involved in the wide range of activities taking place.

Sat 28th June 2008:
St Nicholas Primary School Sesquicentennial Celebration (150th Anniversary) A service at 10.30 in St Nicholas' Church followed by an open day of celebration at the school - watch out for more details nearer the time. See also 3rd May.

Sun 6th July 2008:
St MARY'S PICNIC AND BBQ: Come and join in a summer picnic and BBQ for all members of St Mary's. Bring your own picnic, chairs, picnic rugs and meat/veg to BBQ (BBQ will be provided). A 'sweet trolley' is planned so bring a sweet to share (e.g. for about 6 people) and we can all try a new dessert! After the picnic - games are planned for the young and of course the 'young at heart'! Book this date in your diary now! 20-27th October 2008:
Pilgrimage to Cyprus. In the footsteps of St Paul, led by the Rector. Brochures from the Parish Office.
